Slippery Falls Scout Ranch - Eagle Trail Program

Each Scout in the Eagle Trail Program will learn the basic skills that all scouts must master to become proficient in camping and outdoor activities. The staff will help Scouts master the basic skills for camp, cooking, first aid, rope work, map and compass, and nature.

Pathfinder is a two-hour session that focuses mainly on the requirements for Tenderfoot, with some Second and First class items covered. This is an excellent introductory program for Scouts who are new to the Troop and are coming to camp for the first time.

Trailblazers is a two-hour session that focuses on the requirements for First Class, with some tenderfoot and second class requirements also covered.

Scouts should not take both pathfinders and trailblazers together. Aquatics requirements will be covered in both pathfi nders and trailblazers, so scouts will need a swimsuit and towel. Scouts should also be prepared for a 5 mile hike. Each Scout will receive credit for the requirements that he completes at camp. How much each Scout completes is up to him. It is very possible that different Scouts will complete different requirements, and some Scouts will complete more requirements than others.

Fire Safety merit badge- Scouts will learn about safe handing of fire and will take a tour of the local fire station during this badge.
