Astronomy
Scouts will learn about
the stars, constellations,
and how the galaxy works.
There will be some twilight
observation time.
Environmental Science
This merit badge is Eagle
Required. Scouts will
spend time observing the
environment around them
and will learn how an ecosystem
works.
Fish & Wildlife Management
Scouts will learn about
managing our animal resources
and conservation
of animal habitats.
Fishing
Scouts will learn the
tricks of the trade for
catching fish. Scouts
must catch two different
kinds of fish and cook and
clean one.
Forestry
Scouts will learn about
different types of trees
and their effects on the
environment, and about
careers in the forestry
service.
Geology
Scouts will learn about
the rocks and minerals
that can be found in the
world around them.
Soil and Water Conservation
Scouts will learn about our
natural resources and how
we can best preserve, protect
and restore our land from
erosion. |

Fly Fishing
Scouts will learn fly fishing
from a pro. This is a
merit badge for second
year campers or older.
Scouts must catch two
different types of fish and
cook and clean one.
Mammal Study
Scouts will learn about
the different types, care
of and habitats for the
mammals in the world.
Nature
Scouts will learn about the
plants and animals around
them and how to identify
many of them.
Reptile & Amphibian Study
Scouts will learn about the
anatomy, care and habitats
of reptiles and amphibians.
Scouts will not be able to
complete this equirement
unless they care for a reptile
or amphibian for 30 days or
observe one at a zoo.
Space Exploration
Scouts will learn about the
history of space travel and
will build and launch model
rockets.
Weather
Scouts will learn what to
expect when they see dark
clounds and whether or not
the sky really can fall. |
